While the doctor along with his complete staff is absconding, the police are investigating the matter.
“Sharma had taken a loan of Rs two crore from Punjab National Bank, Sector 16, Chandigarh; Rs one crore from the Bank of India, Sector 16, Chandigarh; Rs one crore from Punjab and Sind bank; Rs 40 lakh from Oriental Bank, Manimajra; and Rs one crore from Corporation Bank of Chandigarh,” said a senior police officer.
He added the amount was taken by Sharma using fake certificates and documents that he was possessing.
Shubham Hospital and Diagnostic Center in Sector 20, Panchkula, was raided and then sealed by Panchkula police after various certificates and documents of the doctor were found to be fake. Sandeep Sharma had claimed to be an MBBS, MS, Eye surgeon.
It was on the complaint of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kamla Singh, that the police raided the three different centres of the hospital, being run in three different showrooms and later sealed by the police.
As many as 50 police officials were present during the raid that was led by DSP (headquarters) Abhey Rao.
