The nallah presents worse scenario in the rainy season when the entire area is dumped with garbage. The residents have approached the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) several times to find a solution of the problem, but every time their request fell on deaf ears.
“Many times residents of the sector have approached HUDA officials, but they refused to come to our rescue. The nallah is not being maintained at all and due to the uneven level of the nallah, the sewerage water of the entire city gets stranded. It not only leads to unhygienic condition in the sector, but also becomes the breeding point for mosquitoes and a number of diseases,” said BS Sidhu, a resident of the area.
Another resident of the sector RK Gupta said that although tenders were allotted for work at the nallah, but nothing has been done at the ground level. Talking to Newsline, one HUDA official on condition of anonymity said the area has been surveyed and soon the work would start at the nallah.
