Chandigarh, February 25 The Chandigarh Police will finally get Joginder Dahiya — prime accused in the UT Police Assistant Sub-Inspectors' recruitment paper leak case.

A local court today issued production warrant for him, directing Delhi Police to produce Dahiya in Chandigarh on February 28.

Dahiya had been arrested by the Delhi Police a week ago and is being interrogated about his alleged involvement in the Delhi Police Sub-Inspectors’ recruitment paper-leak case.

He was produced in a Delhi court today by the Delhi Police Crime Branch, and was remanded in judicial custody.

Dahiya, prime accused in the Delhi Police recruitment paper leak case and Chandigarh Police recruitment paper leak case, had been evading arrest ever since the cases were registered against him in January. He has been accused of cheating and criminal conspiracy.

His accomplice Sanjay Rana, accused in both cases, is still at large.

Dahiya is not new to the crime world — particularly in New Delhi.

He was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation for allegedly leaking CBI recruitment papers in 1995.

He was charged in the case and was out on bail. The case is pending in a Delhi court.

According to Delhi Police officers, Dahiya used to run a real-estate business in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), when he came in contact with numerous police personnel and government officials.

“He developed a wide nexus, through which he used to procure question papers and leaked them to asp-irants in exchange for hefty sums,” said a senior Delhi police officer.

During his interrogation in New Delhi, Dahiya reportedly confessed that he charged the UT constables between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 12 lakh for the ASI recruitment exam, conducted in Chandigarh on December 23 last year.

He has even disclosed the names of a few candidates who managed to get through, said a senior officer of Chandigarh Police.
