The parents resent the decision, as the exam centre at Budha Dal Public School in Samana is about 35 kms away from Patiala and they are worried that they will face harassment while dropping their children at the far-flung centre everyday in the winter chill.
The parents said that Patiala itself is an important educational centre, therefore, students should have been accommodated in one of the exam centers in the city to take their exams.
While the school management was not available for comments, sources said that there are a number of other schools in the town that could be fixed as examination centre for the students of Lady Fatima Convent School. Last year, the students of Lady Fatima took the exam at DCW, where the students of St Peter’s School will take the exam.
Blaming the CBSE for their plight, a number of students said, “We will have to start from our homes at least two hours in advance to take our exam in Samana.” Parents are also worried about traffic snarls and other problems that their wards will have to face during the exams.
