Parikshit scores double century

Mumbai, January 9 Parikshit Valsankar’s terrific double century (214 with 29 fours) and six centuries were the order of the day on the second day of the MSSA Giles Shield (Elite Division) Inter-School cricket tournament played at Cross Maidan, here on Wednesday.

Parikshit’s big knock helped IES V.N.Sule Guruji hit up a mamooth 596 - the highest so far in the event - against IES Raja Shivaji in the group B tie. Parikshit and Shivprakash Jaiswal were involve in 241 runs partnership for the fourth wicket. Shsivprakash too made a century (131 with 17 fours). In reply, IES Raja Shivaji were poorly placed with 93 for six at close.

Others who figured in century-makers were Anjiman-I-Islam (Fort)’s Munib Shaikh no. 152, Rizvi Springfield’s Karan Vasodiya (101) and Arman Jaffer (125) and Shardashram (English)’s Jay Bista (102).
