In the last four years, Shah has played and won many state and national level titles but this summer, the scenario will be different reveals the lad. “This year I plan to play in ATF tournaments abroad,” he states with a serious look on his face while adding: “I think it’s the right time for me to start in this direction”.
Parth has seen players like Ryoto Tachi, who plays in his age group and says, “Last year he defeated me, but I’m looking forward to playing against him in the ATF’s.” Tachi is a Japanese staying in Mumbai and is regular on the Asian junior tennis circuit.
Shah admires him and says, “He is a globe trekker. I have come to know from him that it can be a great learning experience to play in different countries and on different conditions”.
The fine form displayed by Yuki Bhambri has had everyone talking about him and this youngster (Parth) also has been taken up with the exploits of the Delhi lad. He gushes, “I get hyper the moment I think of him. After watching Yuki’s feats at the the Australian Open where he reached the boy’s semi-finals, now Parth says he has started dreaming of playing in the Grand Slams.” His admiration turns into aspiration when he says, “I have just three years now and need to work hard.”
Though Parth has seen his idol play just once in Delhi, it was enough for him to get inspired and says, “Yuki is an awesome player, he is flexible like a spring and one can see him hopping on the court.”
It was enough for Parth to learn that the key to becoming a professional was to work on his fitness level and he says, “I have been improving on my fitness and of late, I have been running harder for my strokes.”
It was well evident in the way he thrashed his opponent in quick time at the MSSA tournament on Monday.
