“A few bad elements with vested interests are spoiling the entire atmosphere. This has taken place in the last five years, and something needs to be done to remedy this,” said Pasricha, who is due to retire along with Mumbai Police Commissioner D N Jadhav on February 29, after their controversial three-month extension period ends.
“The whole police force is not divided and such groupism does not run across the hierarchy. However, it leads to unnecessary distractions and delays,” Pasricha added.
The comments by the top cop come in the wake of a news report stating that several senior police officers were unhappy with Pasricha for seeking the three-month extension.
