Patch-up likely as Jaitley meets Rajnath

Arun jaitley and rajnath singh

New Delhi BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley met party president Rajnath Singh at his Ashoka Road residence on Thursday. Jaitley drove to Singh's residence around noon. For the record, "the meeting was for the seven Delhi seats".

This meeting was to be followed by Rajnath's lunch with INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala.

The Rajnath-Jaitley meeting assumes significance in view of the unprecedented divide in the party over the appointment of Sushanshu Mittal as party's "sah-prabhari" for the North East. While Jaitley was learnt to have told the party top brass that "probity in public life must be the sole criterion for appointing people to important positions in the organisation", Rajnath had said that "Mittal had worked hard for sewing up party's alliance in Assam".

Significantly, the Rajnath camp had considerably softened its stance on Mittal's appointment by Wednesday evening.

If Mittal is now finally eased out of the organisational responsibility, as is expected, he would also be given credit "for sewing up the party's alliance with the AGP". Mittal is currently in Assam for election-related work.

L K Advani, S Gurumurthy and BJP general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal have been working to effect a truce in the organisation on the eve of the elections.

rajnath and death by omar on 19 Mar 2009

Rajnath and jaitley muscle power stunts are unnecessary.Who ever comes on a high post in the party or in the government they are definitely going to eat public money. So it is a question of rajnath wing eats or jaitey wing eats, money is being eaten that is the unforgattable and unopposable truth.Continue rajnath to appoint your own people to become a major share holder of the money and die leaving everything back. After death you will know what really you are worth for.

Blame by vineet on 19 Mar 2009

How much of ur money has been eaten by any party. OR how much money u have donated to any party . It is very easy to blame. Who else remains totally honest when he gets an seat, will u be.

Keep Rajnath out of politics by Jon on 19 Mar 2009

I think still not understood probity in public life, other wise BJP would not have this fate in his home state UP. This is high time for Advani to think about right person in President post, instead of listning to RSS. now RSS is no more owner of BJP. If RSS wants BJP to rule this country they should give up medling within BJP, if RSS thinks because of them BJP is winning they are wrong, Total RSS votes can not elect single MP in India.

Rajnath-Arun Spat by Prof. G.Sharma on 19 Mar 2009

Agree with Mr. Jaitley's view that probity in public life must be critera for selection ofpersons to organisational responsibilites/ public offices etc. Indian public are increasinglybecoming aware and educated enough to identify dirty politicians/ public workers, whoare trying to grasp the powers desparately, only to destroy the country's future. Public awareness against all sorts of corruptions must be geared up to lead the country tostrong and stronger state, economically, educationally, hygienically, scientifically etc.THANKS.
