(Afzal Guru...You are asking for the death sentence to be waived for people and you are demanding that people from Hindustan should be hanged. What are you doing? You are starting to say that those people should not be hanged and here, you are demanding a hanging).
Guru was found guilty in the December 13, 2001 attack on Parliament in which seven security personnel were killed. His death sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2004. His execution, however, is on hold with the Government yet to revert to Rashtrapati Bhavan on a clemency petition.
Sarabjit Singh faces a death sentence in Pakistan on charges of carrying out bomb blasts. India has requested Pakistan to grant clemency to him on humanitarian grounds. Pakistan is yet to take a final decision on his clemency but has repeatedly put off the date of his execution.
The Opposition quickly latched on to Patil’s remarks, with the BJP describing it as “one of the most irresponsible comments by a minister”. Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said the Home Minister’s statements were “bound to have serious implications for the ongoing talks with Pakistan”. BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar described the remarks as “condemnable” and “deplorable,” and said this was another instance of government playing vote bank politics.
Meanwhile, in an interview to CNN-IBN, Patil brushed aside criticism that he was soft on terror. “Just because I don’t shout or enter into a ‘tu tu main main’ with others doesn’t mean I am soft. I am doing my duty with commitment, that is all that matters.”
He rejected demands by the Opposition for bringing back a law like POTA to deal with terrorism. “Are we saying that terrorism will end when POTA is brought back? Was there no terrorism when the Opposition was in power at the Centre and POTA was a law?” he asked. “If you are fighting a tiger in a jungle, it is not enough to simply have a license in your hand. You need more than just law to fight terrorism. You need to improve the entire police machinery and modernize it. The present law of the land is tough enough without lending itself to human rights violations, as was the case in POTA.”
In the first instance, Patil's linking Afzal's case with Sarabjit is ridiculous and utter nonsense! Shivraj Patil was defeated in general elections and it is outrageous that he was taken in the cabinet and, that too, in the important portfolio of Home Minister! It is foolish and highly irresponsible for him to say that there were terrorist activities during NDA administration and so there is nothing wrong if such instances happen in UPA administration! Afzal attacked the pride of India and it is shameful for the home minister to consider him for anything but severest punishment! What can we expect from a sychophat!
It is painful to see that, India has such a stupid Home Minister, who does not understand, what is right and what is wrong. Agfzal Guru attacked the highest seat of democracy, that is our Parliament, whereas Sarabjit Singh did not attack anything. Only problem is that, Pakistani authority feels that, he is an Indian Spy. No specific evidence has been given by Pak in this regard. So these two things are entirely different. he is such a supera--, he cannot find the difference between these two cases. Excellent Subhash! Shivraj Patil was defeated in General elections and he should have never been in Manmohan's cabinet! It will never happen in progressive democracies like the US or Germany or the like! His only qualification is his adeptness in clinging to the hem of Sonia's saree! Yes, it is not enough to have just law but strong and independent agency to apply that law! Who made the police department inefficient and ineffective? The successive, wretched congress administrations! Indira Gandhi destroyed every institution of the nation and the worst effected was the 'police force'. In every State and at the Centre, the police forces are used as the handy tools of the ruling parties and Inspectors General are being used as the henchmen of ministers, MLAs and MPs! dere appears to b gross misjustice done on Dr.Talwar and departed Arushi.I would like to bring to your notice nd send my message to UP police to consider my suggestionssince im following d media reports,electronic nd printed,i made a key observations regarding d ringing of d phone of Hemraj in d morning of 16th at 6'o clock by Dr talwar nd d milkman d calls were for only few seconds nd traced to d same sector 25 cell.Sequence of events could b dat d criminal came to meet hemraj took him to d roof top nd induced him to commit robbery in d house,he refused and the person killed him on the roof top,he then came down and proceeded with the robbery but somehow Arushi saw him and she was killed. the murderer panicked and left the house from the main door wid a duplicate key which could have been provided to him by hemraj.the murderer didnt leave the area till morning and was in one of the rooms of complex with mobiles,the police should check servant quaters for mobiles,clothes nd weapons.
And to think that there was a possibility of Patil being our Rashtrapati several months back! This man has a permanent foot-in-the mouth disease. The home ministers untimely comments on Afzal gurus death sentence vis avis Sarabjit singh case is unwarranted.It appears the minister has become senile.His ministry is sitting on the case of confirming/mercy petition for reason to appease the minorities while holding the view that at the time of attack on parliament he felt it was an attack on his person.He is a compulsive liar

Common people, plz think with common sense, dnt think based on politics or religion, why the government is denying supreme courts decision?? only for getting minority votes, the supreme court gave order to hang him since there was strong evidence tht he attacked Our country's most dignified house and we lost many jawans.In the case of sarabjith, it is not proved, if he is not innocent he should also hanged.well thts upto the govt. there.But that issue came now only while the govt is protecting Afzal for long time.. why they are protecting a terrorist like this?? Shame on congress, sonia and patil. They have shown that they will do anything for getting minority votes. Sarabjit singh issue came recently. Afzal was sentenced to death before that. Why UPA did not hang him?

The delay in hanging of Afzal is due to the FACT that the court verdict is flawed. He was a ex-terrorist and at the time of his arrest was working with Indian Intelligence as surrendered terrorist. LK Advani, BJP president has said himself, "it is in the national interest not to hang Afzal" At least not until there is an inquiry that reveals what the real story is and who actually attacked parliament?. If Afzal is the real culprit who planned Parliament attack, he should be hanged along with the BJP government officials who made it possible for his boys to enter into Parliament. Note that no body, not even ministers are allowed within 100 m radius of Parliament without blessings of the ruling Government, which was at time run by BJP. Sarbjit case is similar in Pakistan, they claim he to be terrorist like what we claim Afzal to be terrorist. let the law of each land take its own course. It is not what LK Advani or any one of his ilk thinks about this issue! It is a question of the verdict issued by the Supreme Court of the land! It is the moral duty of Home Minister, the central administraton and all the concerned agencies to implement the court's decisions.
