This is the first time that a parallel has been drawn by any one in the government between the two cases and that, too, from none other than the Union Home Minister. The remark also comes when the Foreign Ministers of India and Pakistan met in Islamabad for the composite dialogue process. As his quote started creating ripples in the media today, Patil issued a statement saying he had been misinterpreted.” He, however, did not specify what the correct interpretation was.
Speaking in Marathi to reporters in his hometown of Latur today, he said: “Afzal Guru.. Lokana fashi deu naka mhanun sangtay aani Hindustanchya lokana fashi dya mhanun sangtay. Asa kaay karayla laglat? Tya lokana fashi deu naka tumhi mhanayala laglat aani ithe fashi dya mhanayala laglat. (Afzal Guru...You are asking for the death sentence to be waived for people and you are demanding that people from Hindustan should be hanged. What are you doing? You are starting to say that those people should not be hanged and here, you are demanding a hanging).
Guru was found guilty in the December 13, 2001 attack on Parliament in which seven security personnel were killed. His death sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2004. His execution, however, is on hold with the Government yet to revert to Rashtrapati Bhavan on a clemency petition.
Sarabjit Singh faces a death sentence in Pakistan on charges of carrying out bomb blasts. India has requested Pakistan to grant clemency to him on humanitarian grounds. Pakistan is yet to take a final decision on his clemency but has repeatedly put off the date of his execution.
The Opposition quickly latched on to Patil’s remarks, with the BJP describing it as “one of the most irresponsible comments by a minister”. Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said the Home Minister’s statements were “bound to have serious implications for the ongoing talks with Pakistan”. BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar described the remarks as “condemnable” and “deplorable,” and said this was another instance of government playing vote bank politics.
Meanwhile, in an interview to CNN-IBN, Patil brushed aside criticism that he was soft on terror. “Just because I don’t shout or enter into a ‘tu tu main main’ with others doesn’t mean I am soft. I am doing my duty with commitment, that is all that matters.”
He rejected demands by the Opposition for bringing back a law like POTA to deal with terrorism. “Are we saying that terrorism will end when POTA is brought back? Was there no terrorism when the Opposition was in power at the Centre and POTA was a law?” he asked. “If you are fighting a tiger in a jungle, it is not enough to simply have a license in your hand. You need more than just law to fight terrorism. You need to improve the entire police machinery and modernize it. The present law of the land is tough enough without lending itself to human rights violations, as was the case in POTA.”

It is shame to Mr. Patil and shame to people who elect or appoint such people to govern the country. All terrorist activities in India and the world are being committed by members of a particular community. Only Mr Patil can deny it, as vote bank politics compels him to sympathize with anti-nationals.

After the laws are made by the politicians in the parliament, then the law implementing agencies handel the law related matters, but in India the politicians seems to be making the law, implementing according to his or her will and the law agencies like police etc. have become puppets in the hands of politicians.In the case of a certain politician, he was caught in different episodes,but he then became the the overhead of the law machine, then all the charges were dropped against him.What shit is this?Are you running a country or kutkhana?

Politics in India seems to have stooped to the lowest levels ever.On one side we have the pagal BJP whose own associates like Ashok Singhal,Modi, Raj, Thackeray etc. are freely roaming around since no one has taken them to task, and then we have an outside terrorist which has not been hanged as per the court sentence. Who is running the law machine? Politicians or law implementing agencies?
The delay in hanging of Afzal is due to the FACT that the court verdict is flawed. He was a ex-terrorist and at the time of his arrest was working with Indian Intelligence as surrendered terrorist. LK Advani, BJP president has said himself, "it is in the national interest not to hang Afzal" At least not until there is an inquiry that reveals what the real story is and who actually attacked parliament?.

Home Minister has lost his mental balance by stating these kind of things. Afzal has not only attacked on Parliament, he attacked on the soverignity of this nation. I dont know why this so called puppet home minister doesnt understand. If Home Minster stick to his statment, he should tell to this nation that what he is going to do with the punishment of Afzal Guru. I know tomorrow he is going to roll back from his statment and would say that media has wrongly interpreted his statment. I really dont know in which direction this country is going. No one in this world can stop this country from terrorism and from Congress. God Please help.

Home minister has become a nuisance to Congress and the country and I don't know, what the PM and Congressvallahs see in him. He doesn't diserve to be our country's home minister in the first place. Usually in a private company or firm, a boss hires a person that is dumber than himself. It seems to me, that is what happening in the UPA hierarchy, selecting all the dumb idiots in the UPA ministry, disgracing every Indian that voted them to power.

If we want to remove hatred and terrorism, let us remove Kashmir from India. Let that cursed state live with its Paki masters or whatever it wants. Kashmir is a diseased limb for India. this patil is a complete moron. has pakistan accepted that afzal is a paki citizen?. have they requested their release?. or is it that patil is trying to suggest to the pakis that you trade afzal with sarabjit?.
What Afzal to India is Sarbjit to Pakistan. One countries Heros are other countries Terrorist. Media and common man of India to understand the politics of terrorism, which always raises during election times, be it Gujrat, Karnataka etc. Root cause of terrorism and real people involved in terrorism to be punished. I repeate Parliament attach accused Afzal to be hanged if found real guilty along with Government agencies ruling at that time who facilitated the entry of terrorist inside parliament. Note again even a minister is not allowed within 100 m radius of parliament. I will not say here that BJP was the ruling party at that time.
What more can we expect from this govt. The Social Welfare ministry has asked the Finance Ministry whether illegal migrants are eligible for NREGA. How do we expect the govt. to deport the illegal migrants. US is having shooting guards in the border to check the illegal migrants. We already ditched the border fencing project near Bangladesh border. Outside world is laughing...
It is very bad that our Great ( Congress thinks ) Home minister link Afzhal to sarabjit. Its a Shame to Indians. We should through him ( Patil ) out of our country and send him Pakistan. He his fit to be home minister for pakistan not for India.

As Advani once said to kill the Rapist in public so that others can take lesson, I strongly recommend to punish the REAL terrorist of India after full investigation in public and in live TV coverage so that no body should dare repeat it. The terrorist should not be selected on bias, whether muslim terrorist or hindu terrorist from Gujrat, UP, Mumbai, Rajasthan, or terrorist police who to fake encounter killings.
Only under Sonia's leadership a person like Shivraj Patil who could not get elected in his contituency can become a home minister of India. Congress middle management is full of such sycophants who bat for Pakistan and it is time our people unite and throw the whole party out for good. Merely chucking out Patil will not help.
