Pbi varsity cyclists dominate on day two

Chandigarh, February 2 Punjabi University’s cyclists dominated the second day of the All India Inter-varsity Cycling Championship in progress at Cycling Velodrome, Punjabi University. In the men's 1 Km time trial event, Sarpreet Singh of Punjabi University clinched the top spot with a timing of 1 minute and 15.337 seconds while Harpinder Singh of Panjab University, Chandigarh came second with a timing of 1 minute and 17.831 seconds. Om Prakash of Bikaner University, Rajasthan clinched the third spot with a timing of 1 minute and 18.290 seconds. In the women’s 500 metres time trial final, Gurpreet Kaur of Panjab University, Chandigarh claimed the top spot with a timing of 42.3 seconds while Mahita Mohan of Kerela University bagged the second spot with a timing of 43.149 seconds. Rajwinder kaur of Punjabi University, Patiala clinched the third spot with a timing of 43.927 seconds. In the men’s 1000 metres sprint, four riders qualified for the semi-finals. Iqbaljit Singh (Punjabi University, Patiala), Arun Mohan (Kerela University), Amit Ranga (Bikaner University) and Manish Sawhney (Punjabi University, Patiala) qualified for the semi-finals.
