For some people journey is their destination and IBV Naryana is one of them. Having been on a world tour on bicycle in 1979-1980 in a span of about 18 months covering 59 countries and 89600 kms, “this time round I will commute by my motorbike — a modified 500 cc bullet, complete with two side tyres, the message of world peace and my contact number (in case sponsors want to get in touch),” spills the 48-year-old, mapping the journey through 20 countries including Pakistan, Europe, USA and Canada in about a years time. Naryana intends to cover 90,000 kms in this trip.

Though, he agrees that all that travel is no cake walk, “I am willing to go to any extend to drive home the importance of peace,” he says, reeling the instances when he had to sleep at bus stands, petrol stations and even a jungle. “Had a narrow escape from a lion once,” he tells us, moving to take seat in the vehicle, which resembles more to an auto rickshaw than a bike. “The modification’s have been made to make it more sturdy and balanced,” smiles this revolutionist, who was born and brought up in Karnataka. While, he preaches world peace, he also lays emphasis on the internal well-being of an individual. “We need to be satisfied from within and remember that two negatives always make a positive,” he eloquents.
