Advani said, "Sadhvi Pragya Singh was arrested on the basis of a motorcycle that was used in the Malegaon blast and subsequently she was kept in the police custody for 16 days in illegal detention. Also, ATS had made a ridiculous disclosure by claiming that the sadhvi and her associates were planning to kill some RSS leaders."
"ATS was making information public and this was being used for political advantage by the Congress which is in power at the Centre," he said.
"I have raised the issue with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh which is related to the affidavit of sadhvi in which she has made very serious allegations against ATS", the BJP leader said.
"The people of India will never forgive the UPA Govt for arresting and torturing Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, Advani said.
The comments came just a day after the National Security Advisor spoke to Advani to explain him the details of the ATS investigation in the Malegaon blast.
Advani also appealed voters to "reward" the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh in the upcoming assembly elections in the state and "punish" the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre in the Lok Sabha polls next year.
"I consider the public of this state to be lucky since it will get an opportunity both for rewarding and punishing governments," Advani said at his maiden election meeting for the November 27 assembly polls in the state.
The people of Madhya Pradesh should reward the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government for its excellent work in the assembly elections and punish the Congress-led UPA government in the Lok Sabha polls to be held about six months later, he said.
Advani said he was of the view that the BJP government in MP would not suffer from any anti-incumbency factor.
During the previous assembly elections in Gujarat, the Congress thought that Narendra Modi would be defeated due to the anti-incumbency factor but that did not happen and Modi emerged victorious, he said.
The BJP leader said that in MP there could be some resentment against the party legislators but all that had been taken care of.
He said that there was great strength in democracy and expressed happiness at the fact that the voting percentage was increasing gradually.

Of course it is wrong to arrest and torture a woman. She is a woman who was in deep mourning due to the fact that the death toll that actually occoured was only a fraction of what she had wanted. Advani has been blaming the government for not taking action against terrorist. Suddenly they are offering flowers to terrorists. It implies that they are against certain community and therefore they wanted the government to take action against them, but now his own party is involved in terrorist activities and the cat is out of the bag and therefore he has taken hindus as an instrument to fight against government. How can the government take action against another community when terrorist involved are hindus. It is for the BJP to decide whether they want to remain with terrorists or ordinary citizens.

Would there be something wrong in interrogating the Sonia Maino (Gandhi) in a manner similar to that adapted for the sadhvi to get informtiaon out on the Bofors deal and her affair and dealings with Quattrochi? As she claims to be an Indian citizen, the same Indian law and methods should and would apply to her. Hope BJP comes to power in the next election (which seems to be the case) and does exactly that. Sri. Advaniji, the Future Prime-minister of India, is right in his statement. Let the investigation go on. Mr. or BJP is not against any kind of invetigation. Whether an act of violence done by a muslim or hindu or christain it is unpardonable. Sri Advaniji is not questioning ATS because the alleged happens to be a hindu.
