Security in-charge at stadium, Chetan Pawar said, “Mobile phones, binoculars or food items are barred and every person will have to keep his ticket with him. The seating arrangement is divided into barricaded four zones and one cannot enter the other zone. “He said tickets were printed with 17 different security measurers to make duplication impossible. As security concerns run high, for a foolproof security cover at venue, three companies of SRPF and one company of Border Wing will be deployed. It will all be in addition to the 2,000 police personnel, 250 private security guards and volunteers deployed to deal with any untoward incident.

In a hurriedly called meeting late on Tuesday evening, Vadodara police chief P C Thakur met the top Baroda Cricket Association officials and reviewed the security measures taken at the stadium. It is learnt that the police are taking serious note of security agencies that have warned against untoward incidents at the venue in the ongoing festive season.

Pawar said, “The stadium will be sealed after the dog squad checks the premises and will be opened only in the morning.” Police commissioner PC Thakur down played the apprehension and said the meeting was to help in better coordination.
