Police announce reward for informers of murder cases

Chandigarh, January 15 The Chandigarh Police today announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for providing clue in two unsolved murder cases that took place last year.

On November 16, 2007, unidentified body of a woman , aged about 40-50 years, was found near Kala Gram, Manimajra. The woman was strangled and there were injury marks on her face. A case on charges of murder was registered. So far, however, the police have neither been able to ascertain the identity of the deceased nor have they made any headway in the case.

In another such case, a decomposed body of an unidentified man was found in a broken house located near railway station, on August 26, 2007. The man was strangled to death and his face and arms were found tied with a piece of cloth. Although the police registered a case on charges of murder, they have failed to track the culprits.

According to the police, the identity of the informer would be kept secret and people could provide clues to the police on the Police Control Room numbers or on the phone numbers of the station house officers of Police Station Manimajra or Industrial Area.
