Melbourne, October 7: With the inexperienced spin department lacking sting, Australia skipper Ricky Ponting is now relying on the experience of his pacers to ease off the pressure from the spinners.

With Bryce McGain returning home following a shoulder injury and Jason Krejza taken to the cleaners by a second-string Indian batting order, Australia seem to have no option but to build their defence of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy around the pace attack of Brett Lee, Stuart Clark and Mitchell Johnson, and Ponting says the trio is ready for the challenge.

"The last time we played here, we put a lot of pressure on our fast bowlers to execute a certain style of play, and there's no doubt they are the most experienced bowlers in our side at the moment.

"So we will be expecting them to be able to lead from the front and take a bit of pressure off our spinners," Ponting was quoted as saying in 'The Age'.
