Greater NOIDA, March 17 Students of Galgotia and IEC Engineering colleges in Greater Noida today boycotted their semester exams accusing the college administrations of not fulfilling their promise of placements.

The students, who shouted slogans against college authorities and clashed with the security staff on Monday, have gone on a strike demanding placements for all students before the examinations are conducted.

College authorities, however, say that “students who do not perform well would not get good placements”.

Administrative officers of both the colleges claimed they had “done their best” to get the “performing students” placed.

Police said complaints have been registered against a few students. They might arrest a few if the situation goes out of hand, police said.

A K Vijeta, SP(Rural) said, “We will be coordinating with the college authorities and action will be taken only when a student is found breaking the law.”
