"Zardari was known to be a bad guy long before he became Pakistan's President. Many of the closest friends of his late wife Benazir Bhutto could not stand him. Now, as it turns out, neither can most of the Pakistani people," read the citation by the US-based magazine.
"Locked in a bitter struggle with Opposition leader Nawaz Sharif, Zardari showed his weakness by capitulating to demands to reinstate Pakistan's former Chief Justice as per Sharif's demands. Now in a desperate attempt to reassert control of his own party he may be plotting the ouster of his Prime Minister," it said in an article on the world's 13 biggest losers.
Zardari is ‘on the ropes, his opposition is gaining strength, and meanwhile fraught, dangerous, complex Pakistan is hardly being governed at all", the magazine said.
Foreign Policy listed 12 other leaders from this month's ‘headlines ranked by just how little sympathy we should have for them’.
The Pope was declared the second biggest loser because "he's out of touch with the real world and his papacy is 'a disaster'", the magazine wrote.
The magazine said: "If there's one thing you've got to love about tough times is: they're tough on everyone. These days, it's not easy even for those who have taken historically proven paths to amassing wealth, fame, power, social acceptance and happiness like becoming a billionaire or Pope or US Treasury secretary or an Austrian sadist."
Austrian businessman Josef Fritzl was among the losers for locking his daughter in the basement of his house and making her his sex slave.
Bernie Madoff, the US swindler who defrauded taxpayers of USD 60 billion, was also included in the list.
Others included on the Foreign Policy list are Edward Liddy, executive of US giant AIG (no 13); Forbes Billionaires List (no 12); Eliot Spitzer also of AIG (no 11); British Prime Minister Gordon Brown (no 10) and Israeli political Bibi Netahanyahu (no 9).

The man may be number two as loser, but definitely No. one hypocrite. He knows not a thing about God,humility and humanity. His speeches are loaded with bigotry and hatred, and he claims to be a man of God
Popularity or Unpopularity per se can be good or bad. It has to be based on Truth, common good, and all inclusive humanity. By standing for truth one can become unpopular. Also one is out of reality one can be unpopular. Similarly one can become popular by playing up to the popular demands and compromising values. It all depends on what one stand for, Values, Truth, Common Good of all inclusive humanity, Social Justice.
Pope has become a biggest joke. He wants to ban coindomds but eliminate poverty in Africa. How is this possible in Africa where birth rate is 7 per womenand most of them ith AIDS
Elliot Spitzer is former NY Govrernor who resigned due to a prostitution scandal. He is NOT of AIG. As NY state's attorney general he gave hell to AIG .Please get facts straight.
The editors of the magazine fail to understand what pope stands for. He is not a political figure standing for election or trying for a political office in an election. He is saying the message of life, love and compassion and the word of GOD. If the majority of people doesnt like that its not the Pope's problem. He cant change the bible with time because chrsitians believe that the word of GOD cant be changed.
Come on and don't behave fanatic like Talibans.Pope as young guy was Nazi conspirator which bis known fact but he might have changed his thought and mind which made him to adapt spiritual life. Now that he is sitting at the top and responsible to send the holy (christian) wor/message to the community but he has to make sure/convince that they listen to him and follow his words, which are supposedly God's words. He doesn't have to change Bible which has changed many a times with the passage of time and circumstantial conflicts. This is not negative side of any religion which refines itself to the compatibility of modernity and necessity. He,the Pope, fails that charisma which his predecessor had.Just watch sincerely and see through his eyeswhich reflect meaness and deception and of course tinge of inferior complex.Perhaps he never expected to reach this position in spirituality. He is really a loser.
Hi Sharma,Have some respect for the other. Is it too much for you a small creature to describe him as meanness, deception and inferiority complex.I think that you suffer from same RAHUL COMPLEX. God bless you.
The Foreign Policy magazine is communal and it should be banned. All pseudo-secular parties - please make this an election issue and burn copies of this journal.
Yeah, what do you expect? He actually tells Africans not to use condoms - that too with all the AIDS and big family related poverty problems. Shame on him - all he is concerned about is creating more catholics. Doesn't care for people's well being at all. He should be the first biggest loser!
