20, ACTOR/ MODEL
A secret you discovered about Mumbai?
Beneath the garbage on the streets and the smell of sewage and the crazy driving, there is a wave of love for the city—every Mumbaiite, every person who stays in the city, either loves living here or misses it. If they leave, they always return.
An Indian product or service you can’t do without?
Auto rickshaws.
Any fashion tips
Tailors here are great. You can get anything made from jewellery to jackets to shoes; whatever your style, find a good a tailor. Fashion-wise, pretty much everything works here.
Dared to try street food?
I love vada pav, paan and cutting chai.
A phrase you’re bound to hear?
‘Arre yaar’.
Your road experiences?
Close your eyes at first, hold on if you feel like you are going to fall out of a rickshaw, and eventually you’ll get used to it. I almost fell out of a rickshaw once, but I grabbed my bag in time and slid from one end of the rick to the other.
What is sexy about Mumbai?
Restaurants and the night life. I also love Marine Drive at night—the lights are beautiful
Have you been conned yet?
Well, by electricians, plumbers, carpenters, taxi drivers and sometimes, auto rickshaw drivers.
Truly, madly, deeply, Mumbai...
Every Indian is a patriot. You'll see this, as everyone stands just before a movie, as the national anthem plays out. Every Indian loves his country.
What are the similarities or differences between Mumbai and your hometown?
That would be none.XX is very different. Except that there is an Indian restaurant/news agent/post office on every corner of the street.
Mumbai, the cultural capital?
Hell, yeah. There are all kinds of religions, faiths, ethnicities and beliefs.
