* What excites you about the new season?
The writers are allowing my character to grow up. I’m also excited about working with fellow cast mates, some of whom I didn’t work with in the first season. And then there are these new, characters who are coming in and adding a whole other element. Just seeing what they bring to the table and feeding off them is very exciting.
* What do you like the most about your character, Claire’s power. And, how has Claire evolved from season one?
When I first read the pilot, I loved my character’s ability because I knew it meant that I would be in the middle of the battles 90 per cent of the time. I also knew that it required a lot of stunt work and I love doing stunts.
She’s has come a long way. She started off very young and naive and kind of selfish, sort of self-absorbed in her high-school life. Now that she’s embraced these abilities she’s been given she cares more about others than she did. She’s just lost some of that naivete.
* What do you think about the new characters being introduced this season?
I think it’s great. I think some characters will come and go, but others will remain and really impact the show. I think Dania Ramirez’s character and Shalim Ortiz characters are very important. They bring a very real story (about illegal immigrants) that adds a completely different element. And I get to do some stuff with (former Veronica Mars star) Kristen Bell. Her character is really fun.
* Claire was the centre of attention in the first season. In season two, the focus has shifted to the new characters. Were you comfortable with that?
I’ll be honest, it was a little difficult and I was disappointed. But knowing that you’re to be on the show for a long time, you get less afraid of things like that. I do think they spent too much time on the new characters and not enough on the ones that people already love.
* You were also part of the ‘Heroes World Tour’. Where did you go?
Paris, London and Munich. It was wonderful. People’s reactions were incredible. When we went to Paris, there were lot many people and police holding back 6,000 screaming fans. It’s so empowering. We all came back wanting to make a much better show because we could see how much people appreciate it.
* How has the success of Heroes changed your life?
It’s changed my life dramatically. It’s very difficult when you’re constantly being picked on and people are trying to bring me down. But I try to transfer (the ideals of Heroes) into my own life. To have a show like Heroes really takes you out there and makes your voice strong. People pay more attention to you and it gives me a platform that I can really use to my advantage.
* What do you have to say about reports about your personal life in media. Do you wish you had a superpower to handle the paparazzi?
Besides the fact that you’ve got a camera in your face most of the time, the most difficult thing is the fact that people think that they have the right to judge you. Having superpower to deal with paparazzi would be incredible. The ability to be physical sometimes would definitely come in handy. Shooting lightning from my hands would also be so much fun.
* What about your fashion line?
I have been working on a line of jewellry. I really like designing jewelry, that’s one of the things that I am very comfortable with. I’m not sure when exactly it’s going to come out, and when it’s going to be put together, but you’ll all hear about it.
