External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who met his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, discussed ways to boost the bilateral military and security ties, apart from exchanging views on the latest developments in regional and international arena.

The two ministers also discussed the situation in Lebanon, the Middle-East peace process, new developments in Iraq and on Iranian's nuclear programme, the official Emirates news agency reported.

The meeting was attended by Director of the UAE's Foreign Minister's Office Rashid Hareb Al Falahi and Indian Ambassador to the UAE Talmiz Ahmed.
