Pranab mukherjee

New Delhi A day before Prime Minister Manmohan Singh got admitted into AIIMS for his heart-bypass, he signed a document delegating the vital Nuclear Command Authority powers to External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee. Besides, the PM appointed Mukherjee as the Finance Minister till he is fully recovered to take the charge back.

Contrary to reports, the so-called nuclear button was handed over to Pranab as soon as the decision to go for surgery was taken by the PM. However, the decision to put Mukherjee as head of Finance was taken after discussions with Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

nuke button control by whom by freddie Indian on 27 Jan 2009

Everybody knows who is controlling who. Honestly speaking an Italian is controlling the entire nation. Not only the nation but the vada sambar/rasgoolas as well. I do not understand why are we so much depending on foreign powers. It is a shame

Very bold decision by our PM. The key has gone to the right hand.

Pranab Mukerjee is most matured and experienced person in the cabinet. So it is right for Ms Sonia Gandhi to trust him for this very responcisive job.

Nuclear botton to Pranab by Babu on 25 Jan 2009

Very bold decision by our PM to hand over the nuclear botton to the right man- Pranab. I don't know how Soniaji could accept Pranab, as her favourite man Antony is already in attendance, even though he is good for nothing.

Nuclear Button by Kerisnaji Rao on 25 Jan 2009

It is time Indians(people ) chose the right leaders to help progress and defend India.A Nuclear war with Pakistan is very real. Dehli,Bombay and Agra will be demolished together with all military and Naval Installationswithin minutesin a nuclear war with Pakistan. There won't be any second strike chance for India.India must go for first strike to survive. No clever aggresive leader would have agreed for only a second strike as the enemies first strike would have killed millions.Who the hell are these politicians to sacrifice millions of lives by agreeing to allow the enemy to kill millions in the first strike?India is beginning to look sick! Come on India wake up ! If India thinks that it has an advantage over Pakistan think again before its too late.Pakistan has powerful allies.India is on her own.

Yes, we must attack to defend by Suresh on 30 Jan 2009

I agree with you in principle. Delhi, Mumbai - yes definitely. Agra perhaps, for obvious reasons. But very possible, too. Given the present scenario and the total lack of bold decision making capability of our any party leaders (chhakkas, even the women wearing bangles are more courageous - ref someone's recent remarks ) even when hit on the head, we should not let go of the right and opportunity of being the first to pull the trigger if we expect to save our country. There is no second chance in such cases. Enough of our lameness. But how and who will make it happen unless the general public realises the pending catastrophy due to Papis being nuclear armed is the million $ question. Again to remind one and all -Papistan is on the verge of collapse, China is there to instigate it, Papis have lost their head and gone crazy, so they can become desperate any time in the near future and drop it all on us. So, savadhaan !
