New Delhi, July 6: Congress kept up the suspense whether it would clarify by Monday to the Left parties on the issue of moving forward on the Indo-US nuclear deal as the deadline set by the key outside supporters nears its end.

"It is for senior leader Pranab Mukherjee to reply. He will reply in an appropriate manner," was what AICC media department chairperson Veerappa Moily said when asked whether the head of the UPA-Left joint mechanism on the nuclear deal would respond before the Left deadline.

The party leading the coalition had earlier rejected the July seven deadline contending sovereign Governments or political parties cannot be bound by ultimatums.

The party top brass, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Party chief Sonia Gandhi, had held detailed consultations soon after the Left ultimatum.

The AICC has been unfazed by the Left action and has been maintaining that the nuclear deal is in national interest. The Left have been demanding that the Prime Minister should make the position clear on the issue before he proceeds to Japan on the G-8 Summit on Monday.

I am just waiting to see what this anti-India element that is also known widely as Communists have to say now. But then they will laugh it out shamelessly as they always did. There is a saying NIRLAJJAM SADAA SUKHI the shameless person is always happy. Do you hear my dear Karat duo.

Pranab's possible reply to Leftists by Chandramohan Shinde on 07 Jul 2008

Pranab's reply will be in an appropriate manner, in words or by actions! As a Foreign Minister, Pranab should help these leftist to get their lost Chinese passport.

WHY? by Y Singh on 07 Jul 2008

Why reply to the barking of the Chinese dogs? The details of the N-DEal are appreciable to the media, the people of India. Who are those Chinese spies to be replied? If you can not eliminate/ban this terrorist outfit, ignore them at least.

Cry out better late than never by srinivas on 07 Jul 2008

Manmohan Singh was Finance Minister of India almost 13 years ago.Was he playing kabaddi then?.Why did he not initialize this 123 deal with USA?.China would have shared 20 to 30% of its US export market although Indian productivity is 60% to 75% of those Kungfu/Karate marshalls agility.Indians should change their food and fitness habits. No matter 100 such deals are not going to get work and business to them.Afterall many people are going to cry out on streets once 123 deal with USA is implemented. And Manmohan singh is going to be one of them.

Where is the need? by G. Din on 07 Jul 2008

Why? Oh, why? Ignore them! That may prove educational for them, though I have serious doubts. Communists are in many ways like the Mussalman. They would much rather break than bend!
