Saregama India Ltd launched Asha Bhosle’s album, Precious Platinum, a tribute to the singer on her 75th birthday. The album is an eclectic compilation of tracks that promises to take the listeners back to the golden era’s immortal melody.

Extremely special owing to its launch on the legendary singer’s 75th birthday, the music of the album has been composed by Nitin Shankar, who had earlier worked for international project Broken Rhythms with Trilok Gurtu, composed Asha’s Real RD released in 2006 and has also done several films. A leading percussionist who has programmed and arranged rhythm for R.D. Burman, Jatin-Lalit, Anu Malik, Sajid-Wajid, Ismail Darbar and Monty Sharma, Nitin Shankar was born into a musical family and has been professionally working as a musician from the age of fifteen.

A disciple of Ustad Allahrakha, Nitin Shankar has been performing independently as well as in a group in National and International Concerts, shows and performances.
