It was also noticed that certain state private universities are granting franchise to private parties to run off-campus centres. The errant universities include Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) and Dheradun-based Hemgiri Nabh Vishwavidyalaya (HNV). While UGC has already directed HNV to close down the off-campus centre it had opened in Goa, in other cases the Commission was in the process of taking similar action. "As per the norms, private universities can neither affiliate any institution or college nor set up off-campus centres," the official said.
The findings came a few days after the UGC made similar revelations about deemed universities which have been found offering courses by opening off-campuses, off-shore campuses, new departments and study centres without proper approval.
For starting any off-campus within the state, the state private universities need to get permission from the UGC after five years of their establishment. The UGC has not allowed any state private university to start off-campus centre so far, the official said, adding the students should be very careful while selecting institutions for pursing higher studies.
About 40 state private universities have been established through legislations in different states. A maximum of nine such universities have been set up in Rajasthan followed by seven in Uttar Pradesh, six in Uttarakhand and five in Gujarat. The UGC last week said it came across a number of irregular practices by deemed universities which are offering courses by opening off-campuses, off-shore campuses, new departments and study centres without proper approval. HRD Ministry is critical about the functioning of such institutions and is set to start a thorough review of the functioning of the deemed universities.

In Chennai one academy by name Parthasarathy International Cultural Academy has offered various honorary degrees to various persons. On perusing the profile of a few persons, I was surprised that these persons are unfit for such degrees and the academy and the affiliated Foreign Institutions are fake. I request a detailed discussion and creation of awareness or banning such institutions from offering such degrees like Ph.D, D.Sc, D.Ed etc

I want to ask if study centres that have been opened by many private university outside their parent state and admitting students are legak to operate or they have been banned by the UGC.UGC have banned many courses through distance education.Is degree received from the university through study centres valid.

it is to bringh to your kind notice that singhania university , private university asteblished by rajest govt by act , this university has set up many off campus centre through out the country which are not approved as per the rules of ugc along this the status of this university is also not clear as this university still not approved by ugc , it is there fore requested not to take admission in this university untill the ugc fully recognised this university

This is to inform you all that Amity Global Business School Bangalore is not recognised by UGC as of today.Amity University is also under UGC radar.I would want people to go n check before joining an institute so they wont face problems midway after joining the course.

icfai dehradun is not a fraud university.the rumers are wrong.icfai is a ugc recognised university.and it is having its different department which is distributed all over the world called as ibs.all the 16 colleges in india of ibs is not the study center but they are the department of university.all the ibs students are getting the right degree and regular degree.so dont worry and enjoy the brand name ibs and its study structure...good luck for all the ibs studentrahul mahajan
yes IBS is a big fraud. they are distributing degree of distance learning on the name of regular MBA to all IBS campuses. This was not clear at the time of addmissions.they have made thousands of students fool.and despite being declared illegal by court, they are continuing to take fresh admissions and hiking fees tremendously. Now they are saving their IBS hyderabad by making hyderabad a saperate university but what about other abandones campuses?which authority recognise them? what is the future of these campuses? are all the admissions taken by these campuses legal? why are they getting DLP degree when it was not clear earlier? ICFAI dehradoon is saying they hv no study centers or campuses outside uttarakhand.ICFAI Society will have to answer all of its student that which governing body recognise its all campuses which are illagal excepy hyderabad and dehradoon.
sir could u please tell me IBS,pune is worth taking admission or not??because they are charing 7-5 lacs for two years mba course..n if u see their campus.one will be shocked .it has no infrastructure.it lacks basic facilities.
