"Who am I to teach anyone? But one thing I am sure of is that religion is no one's personal asset," she said, when asked to comment about comments by BJP leaders that Priyanka was no one to preach Hinduism.
"It's not my place to preach. Religion is no one's property. A person who is truthful and good is religious whether he is a Hindu, Muslim, Christian or Buddhist," she told reporters in Rae Bareli.
"I am confident that the people of this country are intelligent enough to understand because our culture is based on this. And if anyone will teach a lesson, it will be the people of our country," Priyanka said.
She had criticised Varun for making hate speeches and asked him to read Gita properly on Monday.
Priyanka said the issue was not a family matter but a question of principles for which the Gandhi family stood for.

Mrs gandhi instead on preaching morals to the nationalist parties you try to respect your father in law first. then only you can become an indian woman in every sense. Instead of reading gita or bible respect your elders. When your husbands family is having rss connection then how come only your husband is secular and all the other people in the family are communal.
One should applaud Varun Gandhi for having the courage to put in words what the nation is thinking ... As for Priyanka and her 'holier than thou family' attitude I would be mpre appropriate for her to look back at the crimes of her grandmother and her father befors she advocates the Nehru-Gandhi family principles. It is about time we have leaders of the kind of Subash Chandra Bosh rather than whimps like the current PM who like Nehru sold the country down the drain for potitical power. Religion is very much personal, true. So ask Congresss to stop using the words SECULAR, MINORITY etc. and ask vote in the name of this. There should have been no preference given in the name of ANY RELIGION. Sihnce Congress has done this and Priyanka is speaking for this Party, she has no right to say what she said.
