Priyanka to lead Delhi in nationals

New Delhi, February 26 Priyanka Kumari Singh will lead Delhi in the 16th Senior Women’s National Football championship to be held at Haldia from February 29. Delhi will take on Assam in their opening match, while former champion Manipur will face Jharkhand on the opening day.

In the fornight-long tournament, Delhi are clubbed with Goa and Assam in group IV. In all 23 teams are participating in the competition with teams divided into eight groups. The team that tops the group will qualify for the quarter-finals. The semi-finals will be played on March 14 and the final is slated for March 16.

Other members of the Delhi team include Palavi Singh, Raj Shree Pandey (goalkeepers), Shweta Kaushik, Anjana Kumari, Poonam Rawat, Momita Barua, Jyoti Mann, Neeta Rawat (defenders), Kanchan Singhal, Sanju, Shubhangi Joshi, Vandana Sharma, Abha Jain (mid-fielders), Udita, Nancy Gupta, Usha,Neeta Singh, Ritu, Frahan Salman, Hema Khati (forwards).
