"We have registered an FIR against Shah Rukh Khan after we received an application from an advocate who alleged that the actor made some statements hurting the sentiments of Muslims," said senior police inspector of Bandra police station, Prakash George.
The complaint was registered against Shah Rukh and the publisher of the magazine in which the purported remarks were published.
Complainant Khalid Babu Querishi alleged that in the July issue of the ‘Time and Style’ magazine, Shah Rukh had used objectionable language against the Prophet which is unacceptable," George said.
The case was registered under section 295-a (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious sentiments) and 34 (acts done by several persons with common interest) of IPC.
In a message, the actor who is currently abroad shooting for Karan Johar's "My Name is Khan", said that there is no more important figure in history than Prophet Mohammad. "Being a Muslim and standing up for the tenets of Islam is my most important agenda," he said.
The actor's response came a day after a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against him.
Referring to protests on the issue, Shah Rukh said, "If they have seen my interviews about Islam and the Prophet, they should know that it is a writing error and not a thought or view I believe in."
He said, "for all practical purposes... Prophet Mohammad is the most important positive figure in Islam". Khan's statement will be recorded on his return from the US.
SRK effigy beaten with shoes
A large number of protesters put a garland of shoes round an effigy of film star, Shah Rukh Khan here to protest against his alleged "derogatory" remarks against Prophet Mohammed.
The protestors, gathered at Jehangirabad square after Friday prayers, beat up Shah Rukh's effigy with footwear to vent their anger with film star.
Later, they dispersed peacefully at the end of the protest which lasted about 30 minutes.
Shah Rukh in an interview to a magazine compared Prophet Mohammed with Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill.

Dear Fellows, I guess, there may be some misinterpretation.What i know is that Shahrukh him self is a Muslim by birth, and i think he can not be that stupid so he can speak something wrong about Islam or Holy Prophet.Since i know him, or i have heard many of his interviews, i feel he is a very good person him self. Who can't event hurt a single person, so it shard for me to believe that he has given such a statement which can hurt the believers of a religion he himself is part of.If he has committed this sin, i believe, he must pay for it in this world , and should wait for the Roz-e- Qayamat for this act as well.And if the statement is due to mistake from Magazine, being Muslim, he must take action against the magazine to prove his truth, and punish these stupid magazines people.

SRK was my favourite but he is no more important for me after his statement. I strongly CONDEMNED his words. He has no right to say anything about ISLAM. His knowledge about ISLAM is nothing. We all are very grieved and unhappy. Now I would change channel in which SRK is seen..

Why no body can have any opinion and express it about Islam and the so called prophet? As long as Muslims remain this close minded, ignorant and bigoted, no one will have any respect for them and they will remain backward and a real drag to world peace and progress.
It's becoz' Islam was brought to the people by our Holy Prohphet PBUH.In essence, Islam means 'submission' (to the will of God). And is a very peaceful religion.Anything said against the Holy Prophet PBUH who brought this message of salvation to Mankind is against the very basic belief of Muslims.It does not mean Muslims are close-minded. For a moment - let's talk about Hinduism, or Christianity and discuss stupid ideas about these religions - will the Hindus or Christians keep quiet? I condemned the remarks of shah rukh made agains our beloved Porphet Muhammad(PBUH). Too much popularity and wealth has detoriarated his mind. What is his status to comment against the Prophet. I personally now do not see his film and forwith whenever he is seen in picture. I realy hate him and want his downfall.

Whetever expressed by Shah Rukh , must be probed, if he is found guilty he should be punished as per Indian constitution. His personal life symbolises non-muslim attitude but being a son of muslim parents he atleast should have followed the minimum values of islam.
