London A 20-year-old Briton charged with the murder of Indian student Anuj Bidve called himself a 'psycho' during a court appearance and refused to stand in the dock.

Kiaran Stapleton, 20, of Salford, was remanded in custody by Manchester magistrates over the death of the 23-year-old in Salford on December 26, 'The Daily Mail' reports.

Having twice given his name as ‘Psycho Stapleton’ to the court clerk, the defendant confirmed his date of birth.

According to the report, Stapleton refused to stand in the dock, saying, ''I prefer to be seated.''

Meanwhile, UK police officers arrived India yesterday to meet Bidve's family to apologise for delays in notifying them of his death and pledged to ensure his body is released to them as soon as possible.

Bidve, 23, was walking with his other Indian friends towards Manchester city center, where they were stopped by a man who began a short conversation with the victim before taking out a handgun and blasting him at close range.

A 'peace march' took place in New Delhi yesterday while Indian students and locals held a candlelit vigil in Salford last night in Bidve's memory.

Indian Students, Say No To UK by Raghu Ram on 03 Jan 2012

Having been to many parts of the world including the UK, I can tell that the Brits are one of the most obnoxious, immoral and racist folk in the world. Just because of my dark skin, I was treated worse than an untouchable and was called a "dirty Paki" (I didn't know until then the term "Paki" was supposed to be derogatory but it became apparent from the contempt in their voice that it was). And the Brits are so hypocritical that they call themselves "the most civilized society". Brits and Westerners love to point finger at India as a racist society with the caste system and "untouchables", but in reality white Brits treat people of colour far worse than any Indian treats any "untouchable" (if "untouchability" exists at all in India in today's age). This uncivilized behaviour of Brits partly stems from their upbringing. After all, 90% of Brits are either ill-bred b@st@rds or their parents divorce when they are babies which leaves them as uneducated, uncultured, racist low-lifes. Also, the easy availability of guns adds to the anarchy in their society. The Indian government should blacklist UK for tourism and issue travel warnings to all who are planning to go to UK. I would advise all to avoid going there as far as possible, there is nothing remarkable about UK anyway except for the racist, savage hooligans.
