Official sources informed that the troops of 26 Infantry Division had taken up a combing operation inside the forest area of Mansar in Samba.

During the sustained combing operation, the troops recovered the 3.5 kg of RDX explosives, sources informed, adding that the recovery of the huge RDX averted a major tragedy in the area.

Confirming the seizure, Ministry of Defence spokesman S N Acharya said that the combing operation had been launched following a specific tip off about presence of some explosives in the forest area of Mansar under the jurisdiction of Manwal police station.

The operation was carried out by troops of 26 Infantry Division under the supervision of Tiger Division, he stated.

The joint operation had been started with local police, and the entire was cordoned off before the combing operation was taken upon in the forest area.
