New Delhi RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has disclosed that the new BJP President will be someone from outside Delhi and the process has begun.

"Yes the new leadership will be someone other than these four (Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar). This is what I have been told. That is what has been agreed on and I believe the process has begun," he told a news weekly.

The term of the present incumbent Rajnath Singh expires on December 31 and there are various names doing the rounds for the BJP presidentship.

When asked whether he will get someone from outside Delhi in the 50 to 55 year age group, Bhagwat said "they will get someone from outside Delhi".

To a question on the change in party leadership after its dismal performance in three assembly elections, he said change will take place "but at its own time. I only said what I have been told (by the BJP), they have a plan in mind and it is rolling on."

On the issue of Sangh 'intervening' and 'imposing' itself on BJP, the 59-year-old Sarsanghchalak said "the RSS never intervenes, only gives advice when asked."

Bhagwat disagreed with senior BJP leader L K Advani's contention that demolition of Babri mosque was a national shame.

RSS, The BloodHound by M.P.RAMA RAO on 07 Nov 2009

It is quite funny, and mind less to criticise RSS . It has become a vote bank politics especially for all political parties. But for The RSS, India would have been disintegrated. It's contribution to the National unity is intangible and our children would certainly enjoy the fruits of their hard and sincere work with vision. Maoists and Muslim fundamentalist are one and the same as they both want to create choas in the name of their idelogy. The contribution of every Prachark to this nation is unique. DAy in and day out , he always thinks about this nation and tries his best to improve the personality of individual Indian. you see, the micro level thnking to macro level development of this country. They never instigated any riots in any part of this country like muslim fundamentalists but responded when the need arised to protect this country.

BJP by V.Padmanabhan on 07 Nov 2009

It is time for the BJP to think of a party president from the South as the party is generally considered to be a party of the North and in order to see that the party becomes a truly pan-Indian party it embraces and gives prominence to leaders from all the corners of the country who are able to connect with the hopes and aspirations of the people across the length and breadth of the country.

Put an end to religious fanaticism in India and Asia. by Nautankee on 06 Nov 2009

I wonder why do we need these religious fanatics? Pakistan has already got problem with their jihadis and Al-Qaida, and if we Hindus give too much rope to these RSS,VHP,Bajrang Dal fanatics then I am afraid that the international community will also degrade us all around the globe.

The taliban of india RSS by Raj Thackrey on 06 Nov 2009

The taliban of india called RSS is raising its ugly head again and india needs to crush its head. Minorities of india needs to look at this with great concern, and ask themselves as to why other organizations representing minoritiy are banned and a terrorist organization like RSS is still alive. RSS is a terrorist organization, unless it is banned, minorities need to support the maoist and naxalites else their fate is doomed.

BJP - RSS disturbed and confused without any direction by Dr. Divyesh Raythatha on 06 Nov 2009

Rajnath's term is getting over by December 31. BJP and RSS are in a confused condition and the leaders are caught unaware of directions what should be done for the position of president. It seems that they are perplexed and puzzled what to do and they are completely disoriented. This is because there is a clear lack of unity and distrust among BJP memmbers, and a very unclear status of mind. This may be the result of wrong leadership and severe defeats of BJP in recent Loksbha and three state assembly elections. The analysis of the defeats clearly expressed that due to arrogant attitude and degraded language by some leaders like Modi, Advani, and Jaitly in election campaigns invited the defeat. What is required for the party is to fire these unwanted, arrogant members and elect a loyal leader from members available and focus on the future of the party unitedly.

BJP: Get a working president by Nitin Mathur on 06 Nov 2009

A very timely article.Nice move by Mohan Bhagat..Just get the person to have maturity and the ability to carry the team together. BJP needs a President who is not Insecure. . BJP will anyway always look at Advani for guidance especially now that Atalji's health does not permit his active participation. The President should have the conviction to espouse stands on issues which matter: 1) Monitoring progress on Infrastructure projects..2) PF functioning 3) Food Prices, Traders and Distribution..4) Railways and callous running..5)Need for Uniform Civil Code 6) Flexibility of all citizens to buy property in all states7) State assistance for Naxalite handling 8) China Policy and India moves 9) Schemes for Employment programme 10) take on Drinking water and basic health care. A sincere Parliamentarian who respects Lok Sabha will help. There will be many RSS sewaks who have impeccable integrity. Time to pass on the baton to a non-hypocrite so that there are no masks, only transparency.
