Both India and Australia are said to have listed five representatives who will attend the hearing for which the International Cricket Council (ICC) has roped in an eminent British lawyer Nigel Peters to advice Match Referee Mike Procter and the two teams on procedural matters.
The hearing was originally scheduled for Saturday but was postponed to Sunday on Indian team management's request to allow the players top focus on the ongoing second cricket Test.
If found guilty Harbhajan could be banned for two to four Tests and four to eight ODIs. But the off-spinner has vehemently denied saying anything racial during the altercation.
During the hearing, Sachin Tendulkar, who was in the middle when the alleged racial spat broke out, is likely to testify in favour of the 27-year-old bowler.
Indians are also likely to be represented by skipper Anil Kumble, manager Chetan Chauhan and media manager M V Sridhar.

It is always the Indian players who bear the brunt of the racist approach of the match refrees. The Aussies are the worst rowdies in the game - they always get away with taunts and racist remarks and of course, everyone knows that they are master sledgers. I am surprised that the ICC will always let them off scot free and only levy penalties on the Indians. Harbhajan should be protected by the BCCI and if they are unable to, then I think Harbhajan should stop playing for India and join the ICL. Ponting is a hypocrite of the first order, as he has got one set of rules for himself and another for the opposition. The Aussies are also the worst in terms of sportsmanship, as could be seen from the way, they did not even applaud the century made by the Little Master. I would be disappointed if Harbhajan is fined after the scam of an enquiry, but would be hardly surprised.
