Radio station launches RJ hunt in Patiala

Patiala, January 29 Providing a platform to students interested in a career in electronic media, BIG 92.7 FM radio station has launched BIG RJ Hunt in Patiala. The winners of the talent hunt show will get an opportunity to host a weekly show BIG Chutti on Sundays.

The radio station will select eight students from schools across Patiala to play as host. The contest is on from January 29 to February 10.

“This is a first of its kind initiative in Patiala by BIG 92.7 FM. The youngsters of the city will be selected on the basis of their voice and confidence levels, coupled with their entertainment quotient. This initiative will help them further to choose it as a career option,” said Sulakshana the in charge of radio’s Patiala operation.

The entries for the auditions were invited through SMSes. “Fabulous response was received from various schools such as Yadvindera Public School (YPS), DAV, Army Public School and Buddha Dal Public School and our teams will visit them shortly,” added Sulakshana while talking to media persons.   

In the first phase of the contest, each school will select 10 students from its senior classes on the basis of their presentation skills. In the second phase, an expert panel from BIG 92.7 FM along with a prominent celebrity will visit the schools for the final screening. The panel will pick two students from each school.

Speaking about the contest, Mohit Sharma, cluster head of the Punjab BIG 92.7 FM said, “Through the contest we are looking for young, skillful, talented and confident students who have a good taste of music.”
