Gandhinagar Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has the power to motivate the youths, which Gujarat Chief Minister Narendera Modi does not, said some of the youths who have enrolled for Youth Congress membership in Gandhi Nagar on Monday.

The youths expressed this after meeting Rahul Gandhi at Sector-16 who had come here to oversee the Youth Congress enrolloment drive, where youths, had lined up to fill in the application forms.

“Rahul has the power to motivate the youth in the state, which is not the case with Modi,” said one Nikita Shirmali, who had enrolled to become a member of the Youth Congress after talking with Rahul.

“He (Rahul) has the self confidence which would attract the youth,” she added.

Another girl from Government Science College here Deepti Mistry, who also met Rahul, said that Rahul can take the youth forward.

“Rahul has the self confidence, charm and potential to do something for the youth and take them forward,” Mistry said.

She said this is the quality today's youth look for which is not the case with Modi, who never meets youths.

Rahul is on a two-day visit to the state. During his short stay there for 10-15 minutes in Gandhiangar, Rahul interacted with the youths aspiring to join the Congress and shook hands with them. He also gave autographs to the people.

Rahul will be visiting several booths in Ahmedabad where the enrollment drive is on later in the day. He is also scheduled to meet Congress workers, Youth Congress leaders and other community leaders today.

On Sunday, during his visit to Kutch, Rajkot and Patan he had met many workers, attended a women's conference, visited the artisans' village Bhujodi in Kutch and interacted with the women artisans.

During his interaction with youngsters in Rajkot yesterday, he had said that youth from Gujarat will be given more responsibility during forthcoming parliamentary elections.

In Patan, Rahul met youths from the SC/ST community and urged them to join the party. He told the gathering that they have alaways been with Congress and hoped that they will continue to extend support to party. Rahul requested them to enroll in large numbers with the party.

Addressing the gatherings of SC/ST youth, Gandhi detailed the steps taken by the UPA government for the upliftment of Backward Classes, SCs and STs.

Rahul proves that he is a JOKER by Romeo on 25 Feb 2009

so far he is not able to motivate himself. just lip service wont do. instead of asking youth to join the plague ridden political system at election time, he could have become a effective vehicle for changing the life of these youth. in the last 5 years what has he offered them? And now remembered them when shit has hit the roof.

God save India by PNKutty on 24 Feb 2009

Roaming around with ladies, getting caught by FBI and slaping paoliceman at Ellora caves is the roal model for Indian youth. God save this county.

Rahul Vinci by JayaRaman on 24 Feb 2009

Rahul went to Harvard in a Quota called 'Donars' Quota which Harvard does have. In 3 months Harvard kicked him out knowing his calibre!!! If he has a Harvard degree, let him display it publically or let him come to a court of law and get his credentials verified! He has the name of 'Rahul Vinci' in his passport and 'Rahul Gandhi' in elctrol list. Indians dont know that he was caught by the FBI in america and was enquired for 10 hrs and let free but only after the intervention of the Indian govt. There are some documents of him which FBI has, which will be given if he issues a ' No Objection' certificate. Technically he is an Italian citizen as well and has not yet renounced his Italian C'ship' So he can loot from here and invest in Italy. A role model for youth? But it is the nature of Indians and 'India Boys' to get fooled. Please make a search in 'google' and get corrected..A 1000 years slavery under mughals and british have wiped out our indigenous thinking ability....Jai Hin

Its good to see that atleast congress party is trying to bring someone like Rahul for the future. Please also bring good young leaders like JK CM to national level politics with party ticket. For better India we need better leaders regard less of party try to bring more youth by taking their voice.

Rahul Gandhi by Suresh on 24 Feb 2009

There is no substance in this news. It is pure sycophancy. This is what Congress has given to this country. Judge Congress and other main stream political parties by their achievment in the last 62 years. Major problems could not be solved rather has been aggravated. There are millions of Indian youth who have more confidence than Rahul Gandhi in the circumstances much worse than in which Rahul is enjoying his life. He has one of most important attribute which others are not having i.e. that he is son of Sonia Gandhi who can assure riches to millions of sycophant congressmen by being loyal to her.

Why do they love him by Dee on 24 Feb 2009

I think all of these men are gays and impressed by the fair skin of Rahul. And surely Rahul is a gay. He looks, talks and behaves like gay.

RAHUL GANDHI by YOGESH on 24 Feb 2009

NO YOU HAVE TO A BE MAHAJAN , USE DRUGS , BEAT UP YOUR WIFE TO BECOME A LEADER , OR GO TO PUB IN GROUP ANND BEAT UP HELP LESS GIRLS IN THE NAME OF RAM SENS ,SHIV SENA , BAJRANG DAL ETC TO BE A YOUTH LEADER

No.. No.. You should learn from Bofors, Sushil Sharma, Tytler, Sajjan Kumar and Sukh ram by Prasad on 24 Feb 2009

The great Congress Party produced a youth leader Sushil Sharma who burnt his wife in Tandoori, you should learn from Sukh ram how to sleep of wards of notes instead wooden bed, Should know from Natwar Singh on how to get money from abroad, should learn from Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler (Delhi streets stand witness to these secular leaders) or Antulay.

Fools and Slaves by Aji on 24 Feb 2009

Shame on these Gandhian family slaves. Are we not educated enough to understand what 55 years of Congress rule has given us. They create more and more aam adhmis so that they can rally with slogan of aamm adhmi , Garibhi hatao etc in each of the general elections. All they have done in the past 5 decades is fatten their swiss bank accounts, while we for ever will remail aaam adhmis..

SC/ST/OBC muslims = Gujarat congress for 2009 by JP on 24 Feb 2009

Rahul Gandhi had only excited the people who are given the underserving fruit of jobs, education for the quotta politics. Rahul Gandhi can only be SC/ST/OBC creator and can slave them forever as backwards. Rahul Gandhi had not demonstrated a plan as to how to eradicate the backwardness after 60 years. Gujarat congress cannot win without dividing Gujaratis on castes/tribes and other creative backwardnesses. Congress divides Indians. Rahul Gandhi wants people to now dream youth after aad aadmi fiasco. Will Rahul Gandhi accept that farmers commited suicide, whom they cherrished as aam aadmi deprived by UPA last elections? Cheap pot shots of Gujarati congress can only demonstrate SC/ST/OBC muslims for congress. Divided we fail and Rahul Gandhi will fail, it's written all over the wall. A young charming man with no vision=Rahul Gandhi.

This is the future :o by K on 23 Feb 2009

No wonder the youth in India has become edgy and could so easily be provoked. The headline of this article suggests it all! I suspect maturity of Indian youth.

Rahul in Gujarat by Pashu on 23 Feb 2009

Where was Rahul Gandhi for these five years. Why has he suddenly shown interest in coming to Gujarat during the time of the elections.I am from Ahmedabad aand I know what Modi has done for Gujarat. He has taken Gujarat to great heights. All are taking the name of Gujarat with respect excepting these idiotic so called secular parties including the dying Congress in gujarat. Their local leaders do not do anything and then run to the mother and son duo to bail them out and put life in the party. Sonia tried to remove Modi in the assembly elections and failed miserably and so will her son in the lok Sabha elections. We the people of Gujarat love Narendrabhai. He has put his heart and soul in the development of gujarat. There is communal harmony in Gujarat excepting in the english media who love to show gujarat in poor light. My suggestion to the gandhi family stay in UttarPradesh and make a fool of people there. We are developed people and clever dont try to fool us.
