Chattarpur, MP, April 17: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, the scion of the Nehru-Gandhi family, spent night under the open sky on a charpoy at a village in Panna district during his tour of Bundelkhand region.

Rahul has been on a tour of the backward region assessing the implementation of Employment Guarantee Scheme.

The young leader on Wednesday reached Singore after visiting world famous Khajuraho temples. There he condoled the family members of the 8 labourers killed in an accident in February.

He heard their problems and expressed solidarity with them, party sources said.

Rahul enjoyed puri, vegetable and pickles offered to him by the tribals on the occasion, they said.

He also enquired with the tribals whether they have received Job Guarantee Cards and employment. He assured them that he would try to sort out their problems as early as possible.

Rahul later left for Kalphari village in Panna district and heard the problems faced by Dalits and tribals in the village.

He interacted with the villagers till late night before retiring on a charpoy under the open sky.

After getting up early in the morning, Rahul left for Panna where he rested for about five hours in a hotel and headed for Chitrakoot enroute to Satna.
