Amethi Congress General Secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi and British Foreign Secretary David Miliband will arrive in Amethi on Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier, Miliband had expressed his desire to see the rural developmental activities in India during a meeting with Rahul Gandhi some time ago in the United Kingdom.

Rahul had invited him to visit Amethi where several schemes pertaining to cooperatives, self-help groups and healthcare have been launched in the recent years.

Besides the diary scheme, the activities of the self-help groups, micro-finance schemes, literacy drive, and health schemes among others will be showcased to Miliband and the delegates.

Both will interact with the beneficiaries of various schemes run through NGOs. Miliband arrived here on a three-day visit on Tuesday to express solidarity with India over the Mumbai terror attacks.
