Pune Despite cloudy weather in parts of the city, weather stations did not record any rain till late evening on Sunday.

The city dams also received very little rainfall of about 8 mm in Panshet and Varasgaon. Khadakwasla received around 3 mm rainfall.

IMD deputy director-general A B Majumdar said the conditions for rain existed in the city, “but there will be ups and downs,” he said.

Metereological officials said there was very little wind pressure required for the moisture content to cross over from the west coast to Pune. The forecast for the city continues to be “a few spells of rain”.

Over the last few days, weather stations across the city have recorded negligible rainfall in the city. On July 4 it was 6.5 mm, on July 3 it was 2.7 mm, on July 1 and July 2, no rain was recorded. According to available data, on most days of June, the rainfall recorded has been in a few decimal points over 0 mm. Forecast for the next 48 hours for Konkan continues to be promising. In Konkan, the weather department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in widespread areas. Vidharba, Marathwada and parts of Madhya Maharashtra will also received widespread rainfall.
