Rain scarcity brings Hindus and Muslims together in Gujarat

Vadodara, July 26: The spectre of drought haunting the districts of central Gujarat has brought the members of Hindu and Muslim communities together in seeking divine help for rains.

These five districts including Vadodara, Panchmahals, Dahod, Kaira and Bharuch were wrost affected during the communal riots in wake of Godhra train carnage claiming lives of 59 passangers returning to Gujarat after visiting Ayodhya.

It has become the thing of past now and Muslims and Hindus have been participating in ‘Yagnas’ being held in number of places in the central Gujarat for rains.

While Hindus joined rally organised by Muslims, which moved in several parts of the Vadodara city seeking help of Allah for rain.

In almost all the towns, villages and cities of these districts, people belonging to both the communities joined together in seeking help of Allah and Hindu gods and goddesses.

Small and big ‘Yagnas’ are being organised on the banks of river Narmada and Mahi passing through the region, for appeasing the ‘Varundev’ (rain god) to bless the region with rains.
