The 40-year-old leader was arrested from his suburban Dadar residence on Saturday afternoon and produced before the Mazgaon Sessions Court amid tight security following a non-bailable warrant issued by the Jamshedpur court last month after he failed to appear before it.
The court granted bail to Raj on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 after his lawyers Ashok Mundargi and Rajendra Shirodkar contended that he had been booked under bailable offences and should be granted relief in the case.
Mundargi informed the court that the non-bailable offence of spreading and inciting violence between two groups has been quashed by the Ranchi High court.
"The only non-bailable offence charged on Raj was quashed by the Ranchi High Court last week and thus he is now liable for bail," he said.
The prosecution had sought a transit remand of Raj, which the court turned down observing that they had not produced the required documents along with the warrant.
Following Saturday's direction, Raj need not appear before the Jamshedpur court on November 17 as directed by it and can pursue the case either in the Jamshedpur court or the Ranchi High Court.
The court had observed that transit remand cannot be allowed as the prosecution has only submitted the non-bailable warrant issued by the court and not other documents like the complain and case diary.
Raj's lawyer told the court that the MNS chief would not be able to appear before the court in Jamshedpur due to security reasons.

The Biharis and UP migrants are picking up wrong battle with Raj Thackeray and Maharashtra government. They should question the UP and Bihar politicians who have so far done nothing for the development of their respective states. There is not a single international airport, good roads, strong and quality educational system or any industrial development in UP and Bihar. Mayawati is wasting money and resoruces on building statues and holding lavish birthday parties and non productive activities. The north indian politicians have no right to comment on Mumbai politicians. They should first put their own house in order. Governments and in particualr central government is missing the big picture. They should work on developing ones own states and minimise migration so that no single state is overburdened with people. When states are developed they will compete with one another for skilled labor and regionalism will die out as economics will take over.
if the indian govt has some guts in their spine, arrest this 'gadar'and place him indefinitely in the prison. This man is freely and openly disintegrating India . Every Indian has the right to live and reside in any part of India.We know majority of the police officials especially in mumbai are marathis and are absolutely corrupt . They even drink when on duty.

DEar Shaukat, Courts are not afraid to put a person behind the bars if he is rich or powerful. Normally, in offences which are not henious , courts grant bail to all. I think we shold all have faith in our system , only then our system can win. In the language of courts, it is said, normal rule is bail not jail. And thats what is being followed in countries around the world where there is similar legal system as we have.
WHY THE COURT AND GOVERNMENT IS DOING NATAK...... THEY PRODUCE RAJ IN COURT AND THEN GIVE HIM BAIL.IS THEIR NO LAW FOR TERROIST LIKE RAJ THE LAW IS ONLY FOR MUSLIM OR ANY OTHER MINORITY COMUNITY.
Moreover, people from Maharashtra will choose their own leaders to rule them, not some crooks from UP-Bihar. Maharastrians are not poking their nose in the dirty politics of Bihar, then why should Bihari leaders and people be allowed to dictate who should rule MH and how it should be ruled! It’s becoming clear that each and every party in MH do support Raj’s agenda, else they can not survive in politics. It’s the same action Bihari, UP, Tamil and almost all the politicians adopted while supporting caste based reservation and now it’s not only useless but hypocritical to oppose Raj’s demand.
It’s not the first and surely not the last local revolt against UP-Bihar mass migration to other parts of India. India is not like USA or Australia where indigenous people were sidelined long ago and immigrants established their rule. India has a long tradition of rich and diverse culture. The best way forward for India is to protect this rich diversity of language and culture. Every state should have the right to welcome some people from other states whom THEY think is in the best interest of their state, not each and everyone from different culture, speaking different language. Now it’s upto those immigrants to assimilate into the local culture if they like to settle there. This is also true for Indians migrating abroad. I did not come to US to enrich US culture or economy, but for my own interest and the same is true for others in US (from India) or Biharis in MH. It’s upto MH (or US) to remain attractive to others to get required manpower, not the other way round.
India is and was never a homogenous society unlike USA or Australia where indigenous people are sidelined long ago. India has many rich cultures and languages. In reality”unity in diversity” still remains just a slogan. Majority of us hardly understand that and our central Govt did nothing to uphold and protect that. The best way to prosper is to accept that reality and give due respect to that diversity and preserve it rather than destroying it. Raj is doing just that. I do not support violence but I do support his cause.

The Congress state and central government are making another Bhinderawala Raj Thackeray. Raj Thackeray is bribing police and judiciary as some news are making rounds that Rs 2 crore has been given to police and judges to secure the bail from Bombay courts.

Marathi police and Marathi courts both are influenced by Marathism. Before arresting Raj Thackeary they are granting him bail. Our courts and police are enemy of poor and common men but friends of criminal politicians. Bombay courts most of the judges goes to MNS and ShivSena offices to take the blessings of the Marathi goons. Maharasthra law and order is in full control of Marathi goons and they are dictating police and courts what to do. The only solution is separate Bombay from Maharashtra and make it Union territory.

It is high time that the authorities take things seriously. Whether the same kind of treatment would have been given to any other person. What's happening in Maharashtra? Are these people not serious enough to enforce law and order and put to an end to hooliganism. Why the Government is so soft towards RAJ, who is no better than a terrorist. He is responsible for the unrest in Maharashtra, damage to public property, loss of life of innocents and what not?
