Panaji The controversial Sri Ram Sene has finally found well wisher in the form of some right wing organisations in Goa.

"Goa is hosting Ravan Rajya... In the circumstances wherein temples are desecrated, casino culture is encouraged and minors are raped, we need organisations like Sene which will preach the good values," Hindu Janajagruti Samiti convenor Jayesh Thali said this morning.

"Should we encourage SIMI, if not Sri Ram Sene? It's (Sene) a registered organisation and in the democratic country, it has a right to open up branches in any state," Thali said.

He said that blind aping of western culture in the state has promoted bad values. Thali added that opposing Sene is supporting the western culture.

"Why there should be oppose to Sri Ram sene? When rapes have become order of the day in the state and drug culture has percolated in our society, what's wrong in having the organisation which preaches righteous values?" questioned Hindu Mahasabha Goa President Shivprasad Joshi.

Joshi, in his statement published in daily Sanatan Prabhat, a mouthpiece of Sanatan Saunstha organisation, has said that youths in Goa are waiting for Sri Ram Sene.

"Sene is the answer for Ravan Rajya which is supported by politicians here," he reacted.

This week, Goa Home Minister Ravi Naik had dared Sene chief Pramod Mutalik to set up the base in the state.

His views were echoed by Congress and BJP with the latter terming the right wing organisation which came into limelight after the Mangalore pub incident, as bunch of crooks and criminals.

Mutalik in his interviews had expressed his intentions to hold public rally in the state and set up branch here to oppose the widespread pub culture.

Mahatma Gandhi opposed pub culture by Greenman on 15 Sep 2009

Remember that Mahatma Gandhi was opposed to this same "pub culture" and hence Gujarat even today is a dry state. Mahatma recognised that pub culture is the cause of many social ills and degradation. Hope the sene grows and does well in Goa. I think stories about "attacks on women" is mostly media hype and propaganda by those who benefit most from the "pub culture" that the sene is opposed to i.e. the government officials who get back payments from pubs, liquor manufacturers and corporates who own these drinking dens. Also remember that many women are actually there in these pubs and clubs as escorts and prostitutes.

Problems should be dealt in the right way, Violence is not the answer. by Vishnu on 12 May 2009

What does a person who attacks women know about indian culture? If the problem is unwanted weastern culture, then there are differnet ways of handling it. Not by attacking whoever drinks, and wears western clothes. We live in a globalised world. What we see on TV is what influences lifestyle and infuses western habits in the people. Things should be dealt in the right way. Extreme actions are the wrong way to handle any issue....

Hindu Jihadi's by Udit on 22 Mar 2009

If you dont like drinking, DONT DRINK! If you dont like smoking, DONT SMOKE! If you don't like wearing jeans or western clothing, DONT WEAR IT! But who the hell are you to tell me what to do! I will decide whether I want to drink or smoke or have premarital sex! Drinking and smoking will harm me and not you, so don't poke your nose into my affairs. As long as I do not impose on someone else's personal space, I dont think that I am doing anything wrong. What matters is the way one treats other human beings. And from what the Ram Sena has done to the women and men in Mangalore, I believe that it is they who need to be taught a little bit of culture..

BJP- Sene nexus by Ramdas naik on 20 Mar 2009

Everybody knows that it was the BJP govt that helped Ram SENE grow and flourish. Cases against Mutalik were dropped on Yeddiurappa's recommendation when he was Home Minister during the JD-BJP rule. His followers are all RSS and there is no way the BJP will take real action. They make hypocritical noises to fool voters now but like Varun Gandhi's hate speech , this is what they revel in.

Goans have to decide by Aparna Mudbidri on 20 Mar 2009

Ban Rama Sena by Ranita on 20 Mar 2009

Ban Ram Sene in Goa, right now! by Sujeet Ramanna on 20 Mar 2009

Looks like the BJP Goa government has already started inviting the dirt into Goa. After making some pretentious statements, the Ravi Naik BJP government is all set to roll out the red carpet to the sick minded religious fundamentalist groups like the Ram Sene. The Hindu Jagriti organization is also tacitly supported by the BJP government in Goa. Its no surprise that this organization is making statements to defend the Ram Sene. The BJP government cannot openly support the Ram Sene, because of the strong reaction they received from the people of India against Muthalik and his goons. So they are trying to slip the Ram Sene into Goa, pretending that they are against the Ram Sene. The BJP fools no one! If they are really serious they would ban the Ram Sene right now and stop them from allowing the Ram Sene from entering Goa. Otherwise we will see these goons attacking foreign tourists in the name of morality - molesting and raping them in the process and Goa's tourism go down the drain!

Half knowledge is bad, total lack of knowledge is worst! by preamkumar yadav on 21 Mar 2009

Send them to school to learn the basics by Nautankee on 20 Mar 2009

Such organisations are filled with bunch of crooks and criminals. No one has the right to meddle in anyones personal affairs therefore people have chosen democracy. The government should send Mutalik and his goons to school to get them educated.

School by Riteindian on 21 Mar 2009

What will happen if they are sent to school. Indian education does not teach moral education. Even if they study masters, who will teach them moral education. They are doing something even ravan wouldn't have done.

Who is Rama Sene to dictate to us? by Ranita on 20 Mar 2009

Who gave the right to a bunch of criminals, the right to tell us what is right and what is wrong. They are infact giving the BJP a bad name and should be banned.

Jail is the place for them by Jas on 20 Mar 2009

Ram sene, the simplistic simpletons like you are perhaps too old to be sent to school. Fools of Ram sene simply should be sent to jail to learn good civic behaviour

Re: WHom to send to school? by Karthik on 20 Mar 2009

What Muthalik did in Mangalore was just short of rape? Just by saying sorry, Muthalik cannot be cleansed of all ill deeds. If Muthalik or Ram Sene is against skin show, please go and demolish all our revered and cherished temples first. For example, what Belur Halebid or for that matter Ajanta portrays is eroticism. Dont bring taliban style muslim culture in to Hindu india in the name of Ram for heaven's sake.
