New Delhi, May 8: The BJP took a swipe at Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss saying the Supreme Court has given him a dose of "judicial treatment" by striking down the AIIMS Amendment Act.

"It is a judicial treatment for the unhealthy attitude of the Health Minister," BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

"From the very beginning, the Health Minister has been acting in an unhealthy manner. The passage of the AIIMS Amendment Act was politically motivated and to satisfy his ego," he said.

Naqvi alleged that Ramadoss even made the Parliament to pass the bill which damaged the prestige of the reputed institution.

In a blow to Ramadoss, the Supreme Court struck down the controversial AIIMS Amendment Act on Thursday paving the way for reinstatement of noted cardiologist P Venugopal as the institute's director, with whom the Health Minister had a running feud.

Health Minister, Ramdoss by M.S.Kamath on 08 May 2008

Our ministers do what they should not. They waste tax-payers' money and waste time of the judiciary as well as the people. Why are the ministers not restrained by their party bosses? What do they think of themselves to be? Our politicians are becoming a laughing stock not only in India but also world over.

Ramdoss by Anand on 08 May 2008

If Ramdoss has a shred of decency he ought to resign. Further, it is not merely the ruling UPA that has to shoulder the blame for pushing the amendment - the BJP may wash its hands of this episode, but what were its MPs doing in Parliament? Did they resist the passing of the AIIMS Amendment Act? Or were they playing truant as was the case when the price rise was to be debated in Lok Sabha?

Well Done SC by Preetam Kumar on 08 May 2008

Its only the Judiciary which is working in India. Just like UN is handmaid of US , the parliament is handmaid of cheap politicians .Supreme court has given justice to Dr.Venugopal
