Kolkata, April 11 The Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute of India reopened today after a stalemate since April 1. The director of the institute, Swapan Mullick said that everything is back to normal.

"We had regular classes today," he said. On the fate of the 28 security personnel, whose contract was the bone of contention, he said that the institute has asked the security agency for their re-employment. "The institute had never promised them jobs," the director said.

“The new security agency has taken over the responsibility to re-employ them," said Sujan Chakraborty, MP. The institute has agreed that their salary, provident fund and other dues would be cleared and I have got no complaints from the personnel, which means their dues have been cleared off, he added.

Students at the film school were back to learning the form and content of cinema. While Raka Dutta, a student, was busy watching films along with other students till late in the evening, Aparna Das, a first year student, rushed to her class to attend a discussion on student diploma films.

Reddit

Reddit allows users to submit news articles and other online content to the site. Users also give articles a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. Reddit then uses those votes to build a user profile and to find articles to recommend to you. Users can also submit comments on items posted to the site.
