Washington Indian Ambassador to the US, Ronen Sen met influential American Senator John Cornyn in Washington to discuss the two countries' "shared fight" against terrorism.

"At the top of our agenda was the recent horrific terrorist attacks on the Indian city of Mumbai and our nations' shared fight against radical extremists," Senator Cornyn, who is also the co-founder of the Senate India Caucus, said in a statement after the meeting on Wednesday.

Cornyn offered condolences for the people who were killed in Mumbai attack. "We discussed our mutual commitment to confronting the very real threat of terrorism and ways in which we might protect innocent lives from being taken in the future as a result of radical Jihadists," the Senator said.

During the meeting, Senator Cornyn reaffirmed his strong support for India and the critical importance of a strong friendship between the two countries.

Senator Cornyn serves on the Armed Services, Judiciary and Budget Committees of the US Senate. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee's Immigration, Refugees and Border Security subcommittee and the Armed Services Committee's Airland subcommittee.

This is an opportune time for India to impress upon USA need to tackle Jihadisim of Pak which is nourished and promoted by parallel power group headed by ISI and Army. So called Democratic Government is only a face to show world and is at the mercy of army only. Perhaps new regime in USA under Obama may realise and plan some strategy. It is strongly believed that USA, India and Israel must join togather in this campaign as these three countries are facing direct threat from Al Quaida and Pak elements.
