New Delhi, August 27: Believe it or not! Catching Delhi Police’s ten ‘most wanted criminals’ will not fetch you any cash reward while nabbing two others will make you richer by Rs ten and Rs 20.

The city police has declared “Rs 0/-” as cash reward for catching ten out of the over 80 persons who were described as ‘most wanted criminals’ in the website of ‘Zonal Integrated Police Network’ (ZIPNET).

However, Delhi Police have declared a reward of Rs 50,000 on seven criminals, Rs 25,000 on one, Rs 20,000 on seven, Rs 15,000 on three, Rs 1,0000 on 10 and Rs 5,000 on 33.

Eight out of the ten men in the “Rs zero reward category” are wrestlers and wanted in one each case of theft, kidnapping and causing hurt registered at the Daryaganj police station last year.

Nabbing Rajesh Giri of Uttarakhand, who was allegedly involved in a theft case, will enhance your coffers by Rs ten while catching one Rinku will fetch you Rs 20, according to ZIPNET website which provides real-time information about criminals among Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana.

In a goof-up, the age of a number of “criminals” were shown in the website as ‘2008’.

“We will check how this happened and will correct it,” a senior police official said.

Joint Commissioner (Crime) Alok Kumar Verma, who is the Delhi Coordinator of the ZIPNET, could not be reached for comments.

Three students, including a 17-year-old boy, who allegedly kidnapped three teenaged girls also in three seperate cases figure in the list of Delhi Police’s ‘most wanted’ list and carries a reward of Rs 5,000 each.

Twenty out of the over 80 most wanted criminals hail from Delhi while 17 belongs to Uttar Pradesh. Bihar has their four men in the infamous list while West Bengal has three.

One person from Nepal also figures in the list while there are at least 15 men in the age group of 20-30 years in the list.

The oldest in the list are one Ravinder Kumar (54) and Rajesh Gupta (50), life convicts in separate cases who escaped from custody and have Rs 50,000 on their head. Their cases were of 1980 and 1984 respectively.

The list also include Mohd Israel, a member of the notorious bikers gang in the city whose leader Bunty was killed in a gunbattle on Monday.

One Mohd Shaukat is wanted for not paying rent to his landlord and fleeing from the area after filing a forged receipt in the court. Another in the list is Anish Kumar, who allegedly ran an MBBS admission racket.

Among the ten police districts in the national capital, North-East district leads the list with 15 ‘most wanted criminals’ followed by Central (13), North (12), South (11), Outer (6) South-West (5) West and North-West (4 each) and East (3).

New Delhi district is the only one which has no ‘most wanted criminal’.

Among the other states in the ZIPNET, Punjab has the highest number of ‘most wanted criminals’ with 156. Rajasthan has 91 in the list followed by Haryana (38) and UP (26).
