Lucknow, May 2: Three structures, built at the cost of Rs 50 crores inside Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal in Gomti Nagar Lucknow, would be demolished by using dynamites to pave way for the Ambedkar gallery complex.

District Magistrate, Chandra Bhanu has given the permission to Rajkiya Nirman Nigam for using the explosive to blow up the three structures - Ambedkar museum, Library and an administrative block.

The structures, spread across 25 acres, have already been vacated and the process of demolition would be carried out in a couple of days, the official said.

All precautionary measures have being taken to carry out the demolition work under the guidance of experts from Tamil Nadu and with the assistance of engineers of the Lucknow Development Authority, Public Works Department as well as the Nirman Nigam, he said, adding no risk was involved as these structures were in an open area.

The official pointed out that the use of dynamite was both economic and less time consuming.

The structures were inaugurated by Mayawati during her last tenure but according to the new site plan they need to be removed for setting up a gallery complex of with statues of BSP icons.
