Ryan International squeeze past Cathedral

Mumbai, January 3 Malad’s Ryan International scored a thrilling 18-16 win over Cathedral & John Connon (Fort) in the second round of the MSSA Inter-School mini basketball tournament, played at St. Joseph’s school court, Wadala, on Thursday.

Leading 12-6 at halfway stage, Ryan were given the jitters by Cathedral’s Neil Mehra in the second half before the Malad boys prevailed at 18-16. Neil top scored for Cathedral, while Deepak Jain did likewise for Ryan’s International.

Results:

Girls: Mary Immaculate (Borivli) bt Vibror High A 24-10; St. Paul’s (Dadar) bt St. Gregorios (Chembur) 42-0. Loreto Convent (Chembur) bt Villa Theresa B (Peddar Rd) 21-8.

Boys: Ryan Intl (Malad)bt Cathedral & John Connon 18-16.

Auxilium bt Petit High School

Auxilium beat Petit High School by 20-12 in a low scoring game in the girls U-13 on Day four of the 2nd Bandra YMCA open Basketball tournament. Top scorers for Auxilium were Josline(10 pts) and Svamini(6 pts) Saraswati Krida Sankul beat St. Joseph in a close encounter 33-32 in the u-13 Boys Category. Malav Vora(17 pts) and Pranav M.(10 pts) were the top scorers.
