Ryan organises eco cycle rally to mark founder’s day

Ludhiana, August 28 Ryan International School celebrated its Founder’s Day today with enthusiasm. The day also marked the birthday of our Dr Augustine Pinto, the chairman of the school.

To mark the day, various activities were held at different levels. Apart from fun games, an athletic meet was also held.

A special assembly was held in which students wished the chairman with melodious notes and beautiful lyrics. As Dr Augustine Pinto strives to save the environment, so an eco cycle-rally was organised in which 50 students took part. They held banners reading “save environment” as they rode their bicycles. Darshan Singh, District Public Relation Officer, and Harinder Singh Bholu, Chairman, Sports Cell, PPCC, accompanied the students as they planted saplings in Dugri. Sweets were distributed among the students.

This year’s plantation drive, which commenced on August 7 concluded today. About 200 students planted more than 1,800 saplings in the vicinity of the city during this period. The students will also visit VRTC, school for the blind and disabled, on August 30. They will present a short musical programme and spend some moments with them.

Principal Gurpreet Kaur Sandhu said that on the occasion of the Founder’s Day, we must take a pledge to become enlightened.
