South Africa coach Micky Arthur admitted the day belonged to Sehwag, who remained unbeaten after a scintillating 309 off just 292 balls, and the visitors' first job on Saturday would be to silent the swashbuckling opener's blazing blade.
"We will sit down and see how to contain him and others to stop Indian from taking a big lead tomorrow. Hopefully, we can prevent India from scoring so fast and deny them a a big lead," Arthur said after the hosts finished day three at a mammoth 468 for one in reply to South Africa's first innings total of 540.
"We will take the second new ball tomorrow and the first 15 over will be vital. We'll try and stop Sehwag even though he obviously will be thinking about 400-plus score," he said.
Though his side found itself at the receiving end of Sehwag's batting pyrotechnics, Arthur doffed his hat at the buccaneering opener and said, "We were well beaten by a champion player. He played every possible shot in a disciplined manner and put India in a strong position."
It was a hard day of toiling for the South African pacers, who tasted success just once when Paul Harris removed Wasim Jaffer in the morning session.
Asked if he still felt that the visitors had an attack potent enough to take 20 Indian wickets, Arthur said, "We still think that we have the bowling strength to do that."
As for the pitch and conditions here, Arthur said, "Conditions were sultry and wicket was flat. But we played in similar conditions in Pakistan earlier."
