Sorry bhai

New Delhi The Supreme Court today refused to pass any interim direction on a plea of noted singer Rabbi Shergill for the deletion of a certain song in the recently released Hindi film 'Sorry Bhai!', which he claimed was his copyright.

A bench of Justices Arijit Pasayat and S H Kapadia turned down the plea of senior counsel K T S Tulsi who made the plea during the "mentioning time".

The bench said it would hear the matter after it is listed for hearing.

The singer had alleged that one of the film's song 'Jalte Hain' was based on a composition from his album 'Avengi Ja Nahi'.

The music of the film was released last month and Shergill had moved the HC stating that the song, 'Jalte Hain' was similar to his composition 'Ballo'.

Shergill approached the apex court after the Delhi High Court turned down his plea for deleting the song from the film.

The High Court had, however, directed the music producer and four others associated with the song to maintain full accounts of the movie's collection, the sale of the audio and video cassettes and CDs and file them from time to time in the court, pending final adjudication of the case.

The film was released on Friday last after a division bench of the Delhi High Court vacated an injunction passed by a single judge of the court.
