Besides this, the SGPC president also announced setting up of close-circuit cameras at the Golden Temple and Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib.
“These cameras will help in monitoring the arrangements and activities going on at these gurdwaras,” Makkar said. He said literature about the history of all important gurdwaras would be widely circulated and an information centre would be opened at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib.
He said to provide emergency health services to visitors to the Golden Temple, the SGPC would purchase an ambulance and arrangements would be made for round-the-clock health services at Guru Ram Dass Sarai.
The executive committee lauded the ordinance passed by the Punjab government regarding the publication of the holy scriptures.
The other decisions taken during the meeting of the executive committee include purchase of a bus for Guru Teg Bahadur College at Anandpur, Rs 2.5-lakh financial help for Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Chhattisgarh, and bearing half of the expenses for employees’ mediclaim policy.
