Ahmedabad, October 26 Gujarat unit of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), a frontal organisation of Jamat e Islami Hind, is launching a campaign to purify the education system as part of its countrywide programme. The purification in areas of sex education, ethical use of internet and value system is part of the programme which will also emphasise on moulding young minds towards creation of a better society of responsible citizens, said its Gujarat unit president Arshad Husain Shaikh on Friday.

The all-India programme is to mark 25 years of the foundation of SIO which is completing eight years in Gujarat. Though the membership of SIO is very limited in Gujarat, care has been taken to ensure that no member crosses 30 years, after which he has to retire from SIO as the rule, Shaikh said. Three marches will be taken out from Delhi, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram which will culminate into a national convention at Bandra, Mumbai on November 25, he said.

The idea is also to make people aware of the designs of foreign powers to make Indians either corporate slaves or knowledge workers out of the present education system, he said, adding that former president APJ Abdul Kalam, Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Manishankar Aiyar, Tariq Ramzan from Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt and a few other foreign dignitaries would attend the convention.

In Gujarat, various programmes are being organised between November 20-23 when Prof Anil Gupta of IIM-A, Mohammad Shafi Madani of Jamat e Islami Hind, Gujarat Vidyapith Vice-Chancellor Sudarshan Iyengar and educationist Motibhai Patel would take part in the deliberations. Dr Iftikhar Malik from Modasa, Dr Farooq Memon, two other office-bearers also addressed the media.
